The high cost of living”.
Para chuparse los dedos.

Strangely, when I saw the title of the album, I thought: Why does it sound so familiar to me? And of course, two years ago, in 2020, Less than jake had already released Silver Linings, to brighten up with their music and vitality that dark time we had to go through. This new release is Silver Linings Deluxe, where in addition to their latest album, they incorporate some acoustic songs for our delight.
Our favorite veterans of ska punk had already created an album totally faithful to their style, which shows that they are still in the breach and that, as a band, they are still one of the best of the genre. After so many years, with 8 studio albums and countless tours, they show us again with this “Silver Linings Deluxe” that they are still themselves, those kids who started with all the desire in the world to do what made them happiest, improving the unbeatable.
This is an album in which it is quite difficult to choose a favorite song, since from the beginning it hooks and encourages, from the wonderful “The high cost of living” with which opens the album and during the 12 songs that compose it, until “So much less”, in which they show us that they have not lost an iota of their spontaneity and creativity.
Tracks like “Lie to me” or “Keep on chasing” remind us why we started listening to them. “Anytime or anywhere” or “Monkey Wrench myself”, with their ever-present wind section, or nineties tracks like “Dear me”, or even “Lost at home”, one of those songs you would listen to in the sun by the beach, make this album a real treat for the ears. And what about “Move”? A marvel. And not forgetting the hilarious “Bill”.
And to put the icing on the cake, they have included 4 acoustic versions, the best of the album, in this case they have chosen “Move”, “Dear me”, “Anytime or Anywhere” and the theme with which it all begins, “The high cost of living”.
Finger-licking good.
