Review: Eternal Silence “Timegate Anathema”

Eternal Silence, grupo italiano de Gothic/Simphonic metal, nos trae en este 2021 su cuarto trabajo “Timegate Anathema” que será publicado vía Rockshots Music el día 9 de Octubre. Y lo que vamos a encontrar en este álbum es un desarrollo más colorista y sinfónico donde Marika Vanni olvida sus voces más operísticas dando un enfoque más Power. El grupo es muy recomendable para fans de After Forever, Lacuna Coil o Within Temptation.

El disco se inicia con “ The Way Of Time”, tema power que te pone las pilas, con un inicio de guitarras y buenos coros, la aparición de los teclados es siempre para dar la nota sinfónica del tema, unos violines marcan un impasse en el tema dando entrada a las guitarras que acompañan a las mismas, con una batería marcando ritmos de caja muy rápidos en ciertos momentos. “Edge Of The Dream” que es el tema que le continúa sigue con las intros a cargo de los teclados, tema sinfónico con protagonismo de violines y teclados, buenos coros. “Ancient Spirit”  la intro está a cargo de los teclados, tema sinfónico recordando a la última etapa de After Forever, con un medio tiempo para el deleite de la voz de Marika que da paso a unas guitarras pesadas acompañadas de la batería que le dan un toque de color al tema. “Heart Of Lead” sigue la tónica de los temas anteriores. “Lonely” se erige como la primera balada del disco conducida magistralmente por Alberto, terminando con la comunión de ambas voces del grupo y las guitarras del grupo.

“Glide In The Air” da un vuelco al disco con el uso de sintetizadores entrando en una variante más Power, con un solo de guitarra vibrante. “Rain” tema sinfónico con esos teclados  llevando la voz cantante, con coros operísticos y buen ritmo. “My Soul Sad Until Death” me recuerda a Within Temptation con una batería power que imprime un buen ritmo al tema. “Firefly” es la segunda balada del disco conducida en este caso por Marika. El disco finaliza con “ Red Death Masquerade” que pone un buen punto y final al disco. 

Definitivamente estamos ante un buen disco que va a hacer las delicias de los fans de los grupos mencionados al inicio de la reseña, para mi gusto me gustaría que los teclados sinfónicos no tuvieran tanto protagonismo en todos los temas y que las guitarras tuvieran sonidos más pesados o mayor protagonismo con el fin de atraer a otro tipo de público. Eternal Silence, an Italian Gothic / Simphonic metal group, brings us in 2021 their fourth album “Timegate Anathema” which will be published via Rockshots Music on October 9th. And what we are going to find in this album is a more colorful and symphonic development where Marika Vanni forgets her more operatic voices giving a more Power approach. The group is highly recommended for fans of After Forever, Lacuna Coil or Within Temptation.

The album begins with “The Way Of Time”, a power theme that puts your batteries, with a beginning of guitars and good choirs, the appearance of keyboards is always to give the symphonic note of the theme, some violins mark an impas in the theme giving input to the guitars that accompany them, with a drums setting very fast box rhythms at certain times. “Edge Of The Dream” which is the theme that continues with the intros by the keyboards, symphonic theme with protagonism of violins and keyboards, good choirs. “Ancient Spirit” the intro is in charge of the keyboards, a symphonic theme reminiscent of the last stage of After Forever, with a halftime to the delight of Marika’s voice that gives way to heavy guitars accompanied by the drums that give it a touch of color to the theme. “Heart Of Lead” follows the trend of the previous songs. “Lonely” stands as the first ballad on the album masterfully conducted by Alberto, ending with the communion of both voices of the group and the group’s guitars.

“Glide In The Air” turns the album upside down with the use of synthesizers, entering a more Powerful variant, with a vibrant guitar solo. “Rain” symphonic theme with those keyboards leading the singing voice, with operatic choirs and good rhythm. “My Soul Sad Until Death” reminds me of Within Temptation with a power drums that give a good rhythm to the song. “Firefly” is the second ballad of the album conducted in this case by Marika. The album ends with “Red Death Masquerade” that puts a good end to the album.

We are definitely facing a good album that will delight the fans of the groups mentioned at the beginning of the review, for my taste I would like that the symphonic keyboards did not have so much prominence in all the songs and that the guitars had heavier sounds or greater prominence in order to attract another type of audience.
