Reseña – review: Monarch “Future Schock”

Monarch es una banda de San Diego que tras ganar el Wacken Open Air USA y publicar su primer álbum “Go Forth … Slaughter”, nos trae su segundo trabajo “Future Shock” a través de Metalinsider. Este disco nos trae las hechuras de un álbum de Thrash metal a la vieja usanza donde la voz de Matt Smith rasgada y potente se amolda como anillo al dedo.

En este disco nos podemos encontrar temas más melódicos como “Khaos Warrior” o “Sherd of Die” donde la voz de Matt le da el contrapunto y temas como temas como “Collision of Bones” donde las guitarras más pesadas y las voces guturales le dan al tema un cariz que le acerca al Death.

Dentro de la amalgama de temas, el tema “Multiverse” es un tema instrumental donde la guitarra acústica en consonancia con la base rítmica y la posterior introducción de la guitarra eléctrica provoca un tema que le da un contrapunto muy guapo al disco.

Finalmente me gustaría decir que Monarch en su evolución me recuerda mucho a nuestros Angelus Apátrida y que en su consecución nos traen un álbum de Thrash Metal Old School de primera línea. Un acierto de disco. Un saludo.

Monarch is a band from San Diego that after winning the Wacken Open Air USA and releasing their first album “Go Forth … Slaughter”, brings us their second album “Future Shock” through Metalinsider. This album brings us the workings of an old-fashioned Trash metal album where Matt Smith’s ragged and powerful voice fits like a glove.

In this album we can find more melodic songs like “Khaos Warrior” or “Sherd of Die” where Matt’s voice gives the counterpoint and songs like “Collision of Bones” where heavier guitars and guttural voices give him to the subject a look that brings him closer to Death.

Within the amalgamation of themes, the theme “Multiverse” is an instrumental theme where the acoustic guitar in consonance with the rhythmic base and the subsequent introduction of the electric guitar causes a theme that gives a very handsome counterpoint to the album.

Finally I would like to say that Monarch in its evolution reminds me a lot of our Stateless Angelus and that in its achievement they bring us a first-rate Trash Metal Old School album. A hit of the album. All the best
