[Reseña] Bloody Falls – El futuro está asegurado con su nuevo trabajo “Dying Is Easy”

“Dying Is Easy” es el nombre del EP que nos presentan Bloody Falls, banda finlandesa que lleva funcionando desde 2017 y que cuenta ya con dos lanzamientos a sus espaldas, “Thanatos” y “Burn the Witch”.

Antero Hakala – Voces, Stavros Mathios – Guitarra, Marko Mäkinen – Guitarra Mika Lehtinen -Bajo y Rami Vartiainen – Batería, se han marcado un gran trabajo compuesto de cinco temas y que puede callar muchas voces críticas que ponen en duda la evolución de un género, death/black, a base de detalles, arreglos, cambios de ritmo y sobre todo melodías, que consiguen atrapar la atención del oyente desde el primer hasta el último segundo.

El arte de todo el disco ha corrido a cargo del ilustrador Jesus Lhysta e inevitablemente me trajo a la cabeza el Theater of pain de Mötley Crüe, por la similitud entre ambas portadas, en palabras del propio artista:

“Es una representación de cómo una vida feliz se encamina de repente hacia el fin, debido a la inevitable muerte. El concepto de la máscara continúa como una constante desde el anterior álbum “Burn the Witch” conectándolos de un modo narrativo.

Rompen el hielo de una forma brutal con Dying is easy, voces guturales al más puro estilo Chris Barnes/George Corpsegrinder, pero con ese toque In flames en las guitarras que acompaña a todo el disco y que hace que su escucha sea divertida y amena sin perder un ápice de velocidad, intensidad y maestría en todos sus temas.

Pese a su juventud se nota que han mamado clásicos hasta decir basta, como se aprecia en los juegos de voces que se marca Antero en Dancing with Flames, Glen Benton estará orgulloso de estos chavales.

Face your demise nos guía hacia el ecuador de este trabajo como si de un ritual satánico se tratase, de forma complaciente y sosegada; consiguen en apenas diez minutos convertirse en unas de esas “bandas a seguir” entre el océano de grupos que pululan por el universo metalero y que en multitud de ocasiones confunden juntar notas con componer canciones, consiguiendo obviamente, ser ignorados por una inmensa mayoría al no aportar nada nuevo al ya de por sí saturado universo rockero en todas sus vertientes.

Death by hanging sigue la temática que prevalece en todo el disco, y que no es otra que la muerte, la relación entre el bien y el mal, el inexorable paso del tiempo y la relación de los humanos con todo ello, mi favorita desde un punto de vista meramente musical gracias entre otras cosas a ese doble bombo que se muda a tu cerebro que no deja de martillear en su justa medida y esa voz diabólica venida desde el mismísimo averno.

Con Reaper is my neighbour ponen fin a este lanzamiento, que si bien no va a cambiar la historia del death metal, sí supone un soplo de aire fresco, asegurando un más que fortalecido futuro para el género.

Si pasan cerca de tu casa no dudes en ir a verlos, pues en directo se crecen y son toda una experiencia sonora; brutalidad, calidad, profesionalidad y técnica a partes iguales, estas Cataratas Sangrientas darán mucho que hablar.

“Dying Is Easy” is the name of the EP presented to us by Bloody Falls, Finnish band that has been running since 2017 and already has two releases behind them, “Thanatos” and “Burn the Witch”.

Antero Hakala – Vocals, Stavros Mathios – Guitar, Marko Mäkinen – Guitar Mika Lehtinen – Bass and Rami Vartiainen – Drums, have scored a great work composed of five songs and that can silence many critical voices that question the evolution of a genre, death/black, based on details, arrangements, rhythm changes and especially melodies, which manage to catch the listener’s attention from the first to the last second.

The artwork for the entire album has been done by illustrator Jesus Lhysta and inevitably brought to mind Mötley Crüe’s Theater of Pain, because of the similarity between the two covers, in the artist’s own words:

“It’s a representation of how a happy life is suddenly heading towards the end, due to the inevitable death. The concept of the mask continues as a constant from the previous album “Burn the Witch” connecting them in a narrative way.

They break the ice in a brutal way with Dying is easy, guttural voices in the purest Chris Barnes/George Corpsegrinder style, but with that In flames touch in the guitars that accompanies the whole album and that makes its listening fun and enjoyable without losing a bit of speed, intensity and mastery in all their songs.

Despite their youth, you can tell that they’ve been suckling classics to the bone, as can be appreciated in the vocal games that Antero plays on Dancing with Flames, Glen Benton would be proud of these kids.

Face your demise guides us towards the middle of this work as if it were a satanic ritual, in a complacent and calm way; they manage in barely ten minutes to become one of those “bands to follow” among the ocean of bands that swarm the metal universe and that on many occasions confuse putting notes together with composing songs, obviously managing to be ignored by the immense majority as they don’t contribute anything new to the already saturated rock universe in all its aspects.

Death by Hanging follows the theme that prevails throughout the album, which is none other than death, the relationship between good and evil, the inexorable passage of time and the relationship of humans with it all, my favourite from a purely musical point of view thanks among other things to that double bass drum that moves into your brain that never stops hammering in its right measure and that diabolical voice coming from the very avernus.

With Reaper is my neighbour they put an end to this release, that although it is not going to change the history of death metal, it is a breath of fresh air, assuring a more than strengthened future for the genre.

If they happen to be near your house don’t hesitate to go and see them, because live they grow and are a whole sonic experience; brutality, quality, professionalism and technique in equal parts, these Bloody Falls will give a lot to talk about.
