Reseña – review: Babymetal “10 Babymetal Years”

Cuando irrumpieron cual tsunami hace una década atrás gracias al explosivo hit “Megitsune”, muy pocos se atrevían a asegurar que diez años después las niponas Babymetal seguirían siendo uno de los fenómenos más peculiares y atractivos del metal/rock contemporáneo, pero así es las chicas siguen en pie y más fuertes que nunca llenando recintos allí por donde pasan (aunque ahora con la desastrosa situación sanitaria menos…) y su último disco “Metal Galaxy” cosechó todo tipo de elogios por parte de público, prensa y compañeros de profesión, algo que no todos pueden decir.

Por eso y con motivo de su primera década de carrera, Babymetal han lanzado su primer disco recopilatorio llamado “10 Babymetal Years” en donde como su nombre indica hacen repaso de sus “Hits” más famosos y los que las llevaron a la fama mundial en estos diez años.

Para cualquier seguidor de la banda nipona, este disco no tiene nada de novedoso ya que nos vamos a encontrar y de forma cronológica diez explosivos cortes que todos conocéis.

Así en la primera parte del disco tendremos los temas con los que muchos las conocimos como es la adorable “Doki Doki Morning” o los temazos “Headbangeeeeerrrrr” y el ya mencionado “Megitsune”, uno de los mejores temas de metal moderno de la década y que sigue siendo de los favoritos entre los fans de la banda.

Para luego hacer un repaso breve por su segundo disco con bombazos como “Karate” o “Road Of Resistance” (Junto a Herman Li y Sam Totman de Dragonforce) y acabar en sus últimos singles de sobra conocidos como son “Distortion” junto a Alissa White Gluz (Arch Enemy) y “Pa Pa Ya!! con el rapero F-Hero.

Hasta aquí todo correcto y los 10 cortes aquí incluidos son muy disfrutables y nos ayudan a entender como la explosiva mezcla de power metal, J-Rock, J-Pop y melodías que podrían ser opening de cualquier serie de anime que se precie, hicieron que Babymetal y su “Cuquimetal” (O Kawaii Metal) destaquen por encima de la media y brillen con luz propia entre las millones de bandas que hacen un estilo y no salen del mismo, las chicas han aportado frescura y estos 10 cortes lo reflejan a la perfección.

Pero y esto hay que decirlo, si están celebrando su primera década como grupo, lo cierto es que este producto se queda muy escaso ya que no hay ningún tema extra en el disco, ni siquiera cortes en directo o acústico, como tampoco han incluido un dvd/blu-ray con los 10 videoclips de los temas a modo de complemento y para hacer el pack aún mejor, con lo cual el disco se queda a medias y sólo contentará a los fans más acérrimos de la banda y a los que no conozcan nada de la misma les podría servir como iniciación en el sonido de las chicas, pero para el resto es mejor hacerse con cualquiera de sus tres discos de estudio que con este recopilatorio.

Dicho esto, el disco es ameno, se deja escuchar y está cargado de temazos que harán disfrutar al público y ponen en evidencia que aunque muchos no las tomasen muy en serio Babymetal siguen hoy en pie y más fuertes que nunca a por otros diez años más.

For this reason and on the occasion of their first decade of career, Babymetal have released their first compilation album called “10 Babymetal Years” where, as the name suggests, they review their most famous “Hits” and those that led them to world fame in these ten years.

For any follower of the Japanese band, this album has nothing new since we are going to meet and chronologically ten explosive songs that you all know.

So in the first part of the album we will have the songs that many of us knew, such as the adorable “Doki Doki Morning” or the songs “Headbangeeeeerrrrr” and the aforementioned “Megitsune”, one of the best modern metal songs of the decade. and that continues to be a favorite among fans of the band.

To then make a brief review of his second album with bombshells like “Karate” or “Road Of Resistance” (Along with Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce) and finish in his last singles well known as “Distortion” with Alissa White Gluz (Arch Enemy) and “Pa Pa Ya !! with rapper F-Hero.

So far everything is correct and the 10 cuts included here are very enjoyable and help us understand how the explosive mix of power metal, J-Rock, J-Pop and melodies that could be the opening of any anime series worth its salt, made Babymetal and their “Cuquimetal” (Or Kawaii Metal) stand out above the average and shine with their own light among the millions of bands that make a style and do not leave it, the girls have brought freshness and these 10 cuts reflect it to the perfection.

But and this must be said, if they are celebrating their first decade as a group, the truth is that this product is very scarce since there is no extra song on the album, not even live or acoustic cuts, nor have they included a dvd / blu-ray with the 10 video clips of the songs as a complement and to make the pack even better, with which the album is left half and will only satisfy the most staunch fans of the band and those who do not know anything It could serve as an introduction to the sound of the girls, but for the rest it is better to get hold of any of their three studio albums than with this compilation.

That said, the album is entertaining, it lets you listen and is loaded with songs that will make the public enjoy and show that although many did not take them very seriously, Babymetal is still standing today and stronger than ever for another ten years.
