Reseña – Review: Persuader “Necromancy”

Persuader es un grupo sueco de power metal que inicio su andadura en el 1997 de la mano de Jens Carlsson (voz y guitarra), uniéndose en 2001 a la formación Emil Norberg (hermano guitarrista de Nocturnal Rites, Nils). Ambos posteriormente se unirían en 2005 al proyecto que inició Thomen Stauch (ex batería de Blind Guardián) con Piet Sielck, Savage Circus, quedándose finalmente ellos como timón de este segundo proyecto. Con lo que decir que Persuader es una banda con claras influencias de Blind Guardián, Iron Savior y Nocturnal Rites ( en sus primeros discos) , a la vista esta en su historia, si encima le dan su propio toque personal con pinceladas de trash, tenemos un grupo que cuenta con discos de muy buena calidad.

El disco que nos presentan en 2020 lanzado por Frontiers Music se titula “Necromancy”, quinto álbum del grupo con portada de Felipe Machado Franco (Rapsodhy of fire, Blind Guardian) , sale a la venta el 4 de Diciembre y para este disco se une a la formación el guitarrista Fredrik Mannberg (guitarrista de Nocturnal Rites), con lo cual se nota en este disco. Y es que el disco que tengo entre manos lo puedo comparar como un perfume, frasco pequeño (solo tiene 7 temas y una versión acústica) pero de una gran calidad, y es que este disco es UN DISCAZO y se nos hace corto al escucharlo.

El disco comienza con el tema “The Curse Unbound” con una intro algo tétrica con las guitarras como protagonistas para dar arranque a un tema que podía haber firmado Blind Guardián en la época del “Imaginations… ”. El siguiente tema “Scars” sigue la tónica del tema anterior con algún guiño a Nocturnal en una parte de la canción. El tercer tema “ Raise the Dead” comienza con una batería acompañada por un sonido de campanas para romper la canción al más puro estilo Iron Savior o Blind de primeros discos, con un trabajo de batería que en ciertos momentos le da un toque trash muy chulo. En “Reign of Darkness” estamos en un tema más espidico con guiños evidentes a Nocturnal Rites con un trabajo vocal por parte de Jens que le obliga a forzar tanto agudos, como voz gutural; gran tema. En “Hells Command” sigue la tónica de los primeros temas. A continuación en “Gateways” tenemos una intro con teclados tétrico y guitarras pesadas, con un estribillo que se dará muy bien en el directo. El siguiente tema “The Infernal Fires” es la pista más larga de este disco, se inicia con una intro con guitarra acústica para dar comienzo a un tema enmarcable perfectamente en el “Nightfall in TME” de los Blind G., ya que es un tema más complejo con muchos cambios de ritmo. Para finalizar tenemos una versión acústica de “Scars”, que en verdad le queda muy bien.

En definitiva, para los seguidores de Persuader os puede parecer un disco algo oscuro, pero lo vais a disfrutar enormemente, para los seguidores de Blind Guardian que posiblemente su último disco los dejó descolocados, deciros que este es vuestro disco, para los seguidores del power metal, este es vuestro disco, para un servidor seguidor del power de toda la vida me ha abstraído a la época de los 90 y solo puedo decir que es un DISCAZO, la única pega es que se me ha hecho demasiado corto. The album that they present to us in 2020 released by Frontiers Music is titled “Necromancy”, the group’s fifth album with a cover by Felipe Machado Franco (Rapsodhy of fire, Blind Guardian), it goes on sale on December 4 and for this album it joins the guitarist Fredrik Mannberg (guitarist of Nocturnal Rites) to the formation, with which it shows in this album. And the thing is that the album that I have in hand I can compare it as a perfume, a small bottle (it only has 7 songs and an acoustic version) but of a great quality, and that is because this album is ONE DISC and it becomes short when listening to it.

The album begins with the song “The Curse Unbound” with a somewhat gloomy intro with the guitars as protagonists to kick off a song that Blind Guardian could have signed at the time of “Imaginations …”. The next track “Scars” follows the tonic of the previous track with a nod to Nocturnal in a part of the song. The third song “Raise the Dead” begins with a drums accompanied by a sound of bells to break the song in the purest Iron Savior or Blind style of the first albums, with a drum work that at certain moments gives it a very cool trash touch . In “Reign of Darkness” we are on a more spicical theme with obvious nods to Nocturnal Rites with a vocal work by Jens that forces him to force both highs and guttural voice; great topic. In “Hells Command” he follows the trend of the first songs. Next on “Gateways” we have an intro with gloomy keyboards and heavy guitars, with a chorus that will work very well on stage. The next song “The Infernal Fires” is the longest track on this album, it starts with an intro with acoustic guitar to start a theme that can be perfectly framed in the Blind G.’s “Nightfall in TME”, since it is at more complex subject with many changes of rhythm.

Finally we have an acoustic version of “Scars”, which really suits him very well. In short, for the followers of Persuader it may seem like a somewhat dark album, but you are going to enjoy it enormously, for the followers of Blind Guardian who possibly their latest album left them out of place, tell you that this is your album, for the followers of power metal, this is your album, for a lifelong power follower server it has taken me back to the 90s and I can only say that it is a DISC, the only downside is that it has made me too short.
