Luana Dametto: You’re welcome, thank you for the interest and invitation. We’re trying to take as much care as we can.
Algoderock: Well, let’s talk about Crypta. We can’t say that it isn’t a superband if we see the names of the members. Was it difficult to decide who to talk with to be in the band?
L.D: It actually wasn’t, me and Fernanda started it as something natural that happened, I wanted top lay Death Metal again and challenge myself in some aspects, and she knew that and decided to join me in this. When we firt thought that we needed a guitarist, we immediately talked about Sonia, we always admired her and followed her work on social media, and she was happy to join us too. Tainá sent us a message asking if he needed a new guitarist, and we did, so we checked her out and decided to ask her to join the band too.
Algoderock: About that, three of you are brazilian, but Sonia Will have some problems about going to practice with the whole band. How are you gonig to do that?
L.D: Actually, me and Fernanda live very far, even thought we are in the same country, I need hours and hours of travel toe ven reach the airport, then go to her and travel again, we don’t see each other very often. It will be fine, either we’re gonna geta ll together somewhere in Brazil for rehearsals from time to time, or we’re gonna go to Europe before a tour starts.
Algoderock: You said in the first announcement that Crypta will be influenced with old-school death metal. Can we expect a sound like bands like Death or Morbid Angel or will it have some differences?
L.D: We’re trying to avoid to say that it will sound specifically like this or like that, but in general, it will sound like the old school bands, and Morbid Angel is one of them. We have a bit of everything we liked in it, from the american bands to the swedish ones, sometimes even a blackned death influence. We’re still figuring out how the whole album will sound like together.
Algoderock: It’s a fact that you have a big problem for the release of your first material. If we could put a date for that, can we say that it will be at the end of the year or at the beggining of 2021?
L.D: We would like to release it as son as possible, and we believe that could be at the beggining of 2021, but we can’t promise anything. The corona situation is still going strong in Brazil, and seeing that we all live far, it will be hard to travel now.
Algoderock: When all this pandemic situation ends and you drop the album, where would you like to start the tour?
L.D: I guess we don’t have a specific place, but we have been getting a lot of offers from Mexico. I think it’s possible that we start from Europe, because Sonia lives there and it would just be easier, but the first good offer that we get, we’re gonna take, no matter where it is.
Algoderock: And which bands would you like to go on tour with?
L.D: So many bands, Power Trip, Carnation, Asagraum, Krisiun, Triumph of Death, Vader, Evil Invaders, Konvent, Necrophobic… The list just goes on, haha. But of course, like I said before, we’re just waiting for offers and we will be there.
Algoderock: Well, thank you so much for giving us this amazing oportunity. I hope that all of you will be ok and if course to see you as soon as possible in Spain crushing some stages.
L.D: Thank you for the interview and opportunity to show our ideas and plans. I hope to see you on the road!
